Korea's trading hours and how the open and close are set
The Korea Exchange's regular session runs on weekdays from 9:00 to 15:30 with no lunch break. The opening price is set from orders collected between 8:30 and 9:00, and the closing price from orders collected between 15:20 and 15:30, each matched at a single price. During these call auctions orders do not trade one by one. After the close, after-hours trading runs from 15:40 to 20:00 (since 14 September 2026).
An order placed at 15:25 is matched, or not, at the single closing price fixed at 15:30.
