The six-character code given to each Korean listing

Every Korean listing gets a code from the Korea Exchange, and day-to-day trading uses the six-character short code. Company names can look alike but codes never overlap, so the code is the safer way to search or order. A separate twelve-character international code (ISIN) also exists. Since 2024 newly issued codes may include letters.
