KOSPI 200

An index of 200 leading Korean stocks

In detail

KOSPI 200 is calculated from 200 stocks representing Korea's main board and was launched in June 1994. It takes 3 January 1990 as 100 and uses market value adjusted for the share of stock that actually trades freely. It is the base for futures, options and ETFs. Members are reviewed every June and December, and sector balance is part of the selection, so it is not simply the 200 largest companies.

Example

One unit of an ETF tracking KOSPI 200 invests in 200 stocks at once.
