A second venue for trading Korean shares alongside the exchange
An alternative trading system matches share trades outside the exchange; in Korea, Nextrade (NXT) began trading on 4 March 2025. It runs a pre-market from 8:00 to 8:50, a main market from 9:00:30 to 15:20 and an after-market from 15:40 to 20:00. It does not carry every listed stock — it picks from KOSPI 200 and KOSDAQ 150 members and other large names, reviewed every quarter. Your broker decides which venue each order goes to under its best-execution policy.
If results come out at 8:10, an NXT-listed stock can trade in the pre-market until 8:50.
