Private key

The one key that can move your crypto, and only yours

In detail

A private key is the string of characters needed to move your crypto. Whoever holds it can send the funds, so anyone who learns it can take them. Unlike a bank PIN it cannot be reissued, and a lost balance cannot be recovered by anyone. That is why keys are written down and kept offline.

Example

A private key is written as 64 characters, and a single character off makes it a different key.
