Redemption retention

A charge left inside the fund when you sell out

In detail

This amount is deducted when you redeem and stays inside the fund. Meeting a redemption forces the fund to sell assets, and the charge stops that cost falling on the investors who stay. It is not a fee the management company keeps. Plenty of funds do not apply one at all.

Example

A 0.3% retention on a ¥1,000,000 redemption leaves ¥3,000 in the fund.
